JEJU ISLAND: SERIES 1/3
A friend once told me that when the skies and the seas meet in the horizon and they become coherent in colors, she would decide to end everything. I wish I could have expressed to her how much I felt that day, the things I wish she knew - but some things are always left unsaid.
It has been months since I sat down and asked myself how things have been. Things have stayed in such a disheveled state - or perhaps my eyes have seen the glory of the good days and everything else now feels foreign. Making plans these days never go as planned so I've decided to embrace going with the flow. I guess being on this island I felt a lot of emotions I haven't felt in awhile - I wish the earth knew how understood I feel when I look at the waves crashing against the rocks. How comforted I feel when I watch the clouds come together in the color of flat grey. How liberated I feel whenever the roads before me leads me afar to nowhere; because it is the only way I know that there's a vastness ahead of us where I imagine it to be of reverence, endless, much ahead and that perhaps not everything is what it seems to be.
All I want to say is that I still miss home, even after so many years. Sometimes I do wonder when will one ever feel comfort without ever feeling at home? would one settle to ever feel a sense of belonging at a place when he or she's been wandering about like a vagabond and everything feels unknown? I will always be grateful for the days that when people looked at each other with familiarity, and not with hostility. I just hope nobody ever asks me how I am doing for I feel terrified for the days ahead. The skies and the seas have met -
I hope that sometime soon, it will bring us ahead a new start.
